We are eagerly anticipating the release of a 12 song album from the Beggar’s Dog, Rise and Shine, Porcupine! The album’s old-time sound of guitar, banjo, harmonica, and fiddle is more than a old-time flashback. It is punctuated with funk and chamber music. Textural, understated, and raw, the album explores themes of love, loss, loneliness, industrialization, alienation, bravery, and hope. Recorded in our small living space with a single microphone and a bunch of acoustic instruments and voices, Rise and Shine Porcupine invites us to shake off our prickly slumber and dance.
